I am Senior Associate in the Rail Infrastructure Engineering team.

The biggest achievement must be being part of a successful team that helps ensure the safe running of the railway. The proudest moment that comes to mind was working on a large depot building where the concrete ground-bearing slab had settled so much that it was deemed non-functional.

We carried out a feasibility study, topographical surveys, and ground investigations, then recommended a resin injection slab lifting technique that had not been used before by the client. We produced specifications and recommendations for the method and sequence of work, then completed the construction phase, successfully raising the existing slab back to its original line and level – by up to 175 mm in places. This approach saved significant time and costs compared to removing and replacing the slab, all while allowing the tenant to continue using the building. The technique was later adopted for other depot buildings by the client.
