Our building safety services

Building Regulations Principal Designer

Our team of PD’s hold competency under the Building Safety Act, with backgrounds in architecture and building control. We work on projects of all guises, including new build and remediation, across both HRBs and non-HRBs. We have an intimate understanding of what works require what approach, and work to provide compliance both from our own duty holder responsibilities, but also by providing guidance on our wider understanding of the legislation.

We have demonstrative success with Gateway 2 submission, succeeding in several first-time successes. Our understanding and experience allow us to tweak our approach so that our advice is consistently up to date.

Our focus is compliance in design, and our passion is safety in practice, and we pride ourselves on spearheading a culture change with our clients.

What we deliver as part of this service:

  • Design team meetings
  • Building regulations compliance workshops
  • Documentation: building regulations tracker, competency statements, approved documents for Gateway 2, gateway trackers and compliance statements
  • Site visits
  • Client meetings.

Building Regulations Principal Designer Advisor

In some cases, we act as advisor to the Building Regulations Principal Designer. This may be where we are not appointed directly by the client, or where an architect or designer has taken on the role and seeks confidence in their approach.

We believe in upskilling those who wish to take on this important role. This can include anything from light touch assurance meetings to full-service delivery. We will also always advise on the competency requirements and seek to fill the gaps for those we work with.

Building Regulations Client Advisor

Our consultants have broad and detailed knowledge, and work with clients to provide them comfort and assurance over their other duty holders. We act to oversee the BSA processes, ensuring that duty holders have allowed for realistic timeframes and are following due process.

Building Safety Case Gap Analysis

We provide a comprehensive gap analysis of Building Safety Case documents to ensure they meet current regulatory expectations and clearly demonstrate how risks are being managed.

Our team carries out a detailed review of existing materials, identifying strengths, gaps and opportunities for improvement. We provide clear, practical recommendations designed to enhance the quality and completeness of your documents.

As part of the service, we hold in depth feedback meetings where we talk through our findings, explain the implications, and outline the steps needed to strengthen the Building Safety Case. This collaborative approach gives clarity and confidence as you prepare for engagement with the Building Safety Regulator.

Building Safety Case Reports

We offer the development of comprehensive Building Safety Case Reports. Our process begins with a site visit and document review to gain a clear understanding of the building, its condition, its systems and the way it is managed. This ensures that the Safety Case Report is grounded in accurate, real-world insight rather than assumptions or generic templates.

We then work closely with clients throughout the drafting stages, holding dedicated meetings to:

  • review the report
  • discuss our findings
  • refine the narrative and ensure the final document reflects both regulatory expectations and the specific characteristics of the building.

Our team has a proven track record of producing high quality reports that have supported clients in successfully obtaining Building Assessment Certificates, providing confidence that submissions are robust, coherent and aligned with the requirements of the Building Safety Regulator.

We also provide a review service for clients who have already drafted their Building Safety Case Reports and want assurance that the content aligns with regulatory expectations. Our team conducts a detailed assessment of the report’s structure, clarity, evidence, and risk justification to ensure it presents a coherent, defensible safety narrative.

We highlight any gaps, inconsistencies or areas needing further development and offer clear guidance on how to refine the document. This service gives clients confidence that their Safety Case Report is not only compliant but also ready for submission to the Building Safety Regulator.

Building Safety Policies

We provide a streamlined service for developing clear and compliant building safety policies tailored to each client’s needs. The work is informed by an understanding of the client’s operations and as well as ensuring the policies are practical and aligned with regulatory expectations. Drafts are reviewed collaboratively with the client to confirm accuracy and integration with existing procedures, resulting in concise, robust policies that strengthen governance and demonstrate a strong commitment to building safety.

Building Safety Resident Engagement

This service supports clients in producing resident engagement strategies that genuinely reflect the needs and characteristics of the residents. The development process is informed by direct interaction with residents through engagement events, structured surveys and the collection of detailed information on the building’s resident profile.

These activities ensure the strategy is based on accurate insight and represents the views of those living in the building. As part of the process, the statutory three-week consultation period required under the Building Safety Act is ensured through engagement activities and requesting resident views on the draft strategy. We can tailor the engagement activities to the clients’ requests, whilst making sure residents feel listened to which is an integral part of building safety.

Requests for Further Information Support (RFIs)

We can provide support to clients who have received RFIs from the Building Safety Regulator based on their Building Safety Case Submission. RFIs are normally because the information supplied in the reports is not sufficient, and our team is able to help clients understand what the Regulator is expecting to receive and how it can be obtained.
