Frankham Group expands into renewable energy planning with appointment of Alex McCombie

4 Min Read

We have recently appointed Alex McCombie, Associate Planning Consultant (Renewable Energy), marking a new step for the business as it expands its planning expertise into the renewable energy sector.

We continue to deliver planning services across all sectors, but this marks an exciting step in broadening our offer to include renewable energy, as demand for low-carbon infrastructure continues to grow. This builds on existing capabilities across the Group, including renewable energy expertise within our M&E team.

Alex has joined the Frankham Planning and Development team with experience in renewable energy and infrastructure planning. He will be working with clients to help shape projects from an early stage, offering practical advice on planning strategy, site opportunities, and the route to securing consent.

The addition of this capability means we can now support clients more comprehensively in bringing forward renewable energy schemes. It allows us to help them navigate what can often be a complex and fast-changing planning environment.

Commenting on his appointment, Alex said:

“I’m really pleased to be joining Frankham and helping to build this area of the business. There’s a lot of opportunity in the renewable energy sector right now, but also a lot to navigate. I’m looking forward to working with clients to move projects forward in a clear and realistic way.”

This latest appointment reflects our continued focus on developing services in line with industry demand, while building on the strong multidisciplinary foundations already in place.
