Alex is a chartered Town Planning Consultant with a specialism in renewable energy and infrastructure consenting and has over 12 years’ experience as a planning practitioner in both the public and private sector. He has a track record of project management of planning applications for strategic grid scale renewable energy projects such as solar farms and battery storage projects submitted to local councils. His experience includes supporting the consenting of other energy infrastructure promoted through the Nationally Significant Infrastructure consenting route, including hydrogen schemes and sustainable aviation fuel facilities.
In addition to an energy and infrastructure specialism, Alex has also acquired planning consent for industrial and logistics sector development, commercial development, residential and mixed-use proposals. He also has experience in the public sector as a Planning Officer deciding on various planning applications including those in the sports sector.
He is adept at providing planning advice at all stages of the planning lifecycle, from advising on development potential through initial site feasibility work and due diligence work, to project managing and co-ordinating planning pre application and planning application submissions. Alex is also comfortable in providing advice to clients post planning decision stage on matters such as the discharge of conditions, preparation of Section 106 agreements and the preparation of planning appeals.
