Head of Sustainability
Introducing an exciting opportunity to join the Building Services team as Head of Sustainability.Job Summary
At Frankham Group, we have recognised our responsibility to lead change within the built environment. We are adopting a Carbon and Energy-led approach to our design services to enable our clients to realise their requirements whilst also reducing energy consumption and Carbon footprint.
We are looking for an ambitious leader to help transform the Environmental Engineering team into a dynamic, client focused entity. The successful candidate will lead and develop our Sustainability and Building Physics team with the aim of helping to create a better, healthier, and more sustainable built environment for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- General ad-hoc duties such as checking and ordering stationary and tidying the office area.
- Help direct the Building Services Team and provide a full range of sustainability and conceptual engineering services to complement the Building Services Engineering delivery team.
- To understand the critical nature of work winning and be willing and able to represent the Building Services team in project interviews and client meetings.
- To be willing to learn to provide the following services either directly or through staff and 3rd party management:
- Energy Strategy Concept and Design
- Energy Assessment & Certification
- Building Physics and Building Modelling Services
- Building Performance and operational Energy Optimization
- LZC Technology Assessments, Energy Statements for Planning
- BREEAM, LEED, SKA, PassivHaus etc Assessments, Certification and Compliance
- Understand the requirements of Wellbeing and Wellness Assessments and be able to provide guidance.
- Understand the requirements for whole life Carbon Assessments and the software tools available for this analysis. (LCA OneClick, CRREM)
- To progress internally the area of sustainable environmental engineering in partnership with the Director of Building Services.
- Assist in the establishment of the Frankham Group’s ESG team and assist in championing the Sustainability goals of the Frankham Consultancy Group.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Educated to degree/master’s degree level (or equivalent) in Engineering or Sustainability in the Built Environment.
- 8 years’ experience post-graduation or more.
- Understanding of the construction industry.
- Understanding of the concept of BREEAM, LEED, PassivHaus, Ska and EnerPHit certification.
- Understanding of the concept of BIM integration and digital twins.
- Willingness to learn and gain certification in sustainability disciplines and in the use of industry recognised software.
- Excellent communication skills.
