Permits, Consenting & Licensing.

a clear, efficient pathway to project delivery

Navigating regulatory requirements

Statutory Coordination & Liaison

We take the lead on regulatory liaison, coordinating directly with case officers to ensure applications are prepared efficiently and submitted correctly the first time. We manage relationships with all key statutory bodies, including:

  • Marine Management Organisation (MMO)
  • Environment Agency (EA)
  • Local Planning Authorities (LPA)
  • Local Harbour Authorities (LHA)

Managing Complex Site Constraints

Consenting requirements vary drastically based on site location and the nature of the works. We guide clients through this process by specifying, coordinating, and interpreting the critical surveys and impact assessments required to support robust applications. We proactively address risk factors including:

  • Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) and buried obstructions.
  • Contamination and environmental impact.
  • Flood risk and navigational safety.

End-to-End Application Support

We remove the administrative and technical burden from your team by developing and submitting all required statutory documentation.

  • Licence Submissions: Preparing complete Marine Licence applications and Flood Risk Activity Permit submissions.
  • Technical Documentation: Developing the supporting engineering plans, method statements, and detailed construction methodologies required by regulators to approve your works.

A Complete, end-to-end service

Our Maritime Engineering services

Our experience covers a wide range of maritime structures including jetties, piers, pontoons, dolphins, quay walls, wharves, marinas, docks, berths and mooring systems, together with river and coastal infrastructure such as sea walls, flood walls, locks and navigation structures. We also provide engineering services associated with fender systems, linkspans, brows and lighthouses.

Inspections

We undertake structural inspections of waterfront infrastructure to assess condition, identify defects and inform maintenance strategies.

Our inspections cover structures such as jetties, piers, quay walls, pontoons, dolphins, berths, moorings and coastal defence structures. Inspections identify deterioration mechanisms including corrosion, fatigue, scour, marine growth and impact damage.

Structural Assessments

We undertake structural assessments of marine infrastructure to determine load-carrying capacity, structural behaviour and the suitability of assets for continued use.

Assessments consider structural loading from vessels, mooring forces, tidal and wave actions, environmental conditions and long-term deterioration.
