Frankham Consultancy Group was commissioned by the London Borough of Croydon to undertake project management services including technical advice pre-contract for a new building 2 form of entry Primary School.
Procured through the SCAPE framework, the project is a good example of collaborative working between the key stakeholders which included London Borough of Croydon as the employer, Willmott Dixon as the contractor and Frankham Consultancy Group as the Project Managers. The building user is Oasis Academies.
The NEC3 form of contract was used with the Contractor taking full design responsibility and management of the design team.
The project utilised modern methods of construction in the form of a metal frame. Consequently the build period for the three storey building and associated works was just 11 months to include complications such as site level changes, the remediation of localised contamination and a new sub-station.
The scheme included a external toilet block and play area and achieved a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’, employing the extensive use of photovoltaics on the remaining parts of the roof.
