Ian Castle – 20 Years Service
Congratulations to Ian Castle on 20 years service with Frankham Consultancy Group.
A few words from Ian Castle
“A 35 years-young KCC Bridges/Highways/Construction Engineer joined Frankham in October 1997. A number of near-engineering legends have been and gone during my 20 years. But above all the team continues to work on a huge and diverse range of projects.
What a ride!
I have been proud to have inspected Waterloo Station train shed roof from 50’ spiders, crawled rat infested station tunnels, made concept a reality opening a new railway station at Chandler’s Ford with Charlie Dimmock. Project managed the refurbishment of the Parliamentary Estate during 9/11 and HRH The Queen Mother’s lying in state.
I have worked closely with Network Rail and Train Operating Companies to realise new footbridges, modular and at grade car parks. Extending depots and adding huge arrays of photovoltaic (PV) panels, refurbishing and accessible-ising stations and other structures, and, my personal pièces de résistance, solving the issue of how to make work a PCC slabbed platform hump. A simple solution by a simple ingénieur”.
Ian joined Frankham as a Senior Civil Engineer and is currently the Group Manager – Civil and Rail Engineering.
