Major funding boost to accelerate cladding remediation in Social Housing
18th July 2025We are pleased to see the Government continuing to take decisive steps to address the thousands of buildings affected by unsafe cladding.
The latest update to the Remediation Acceleration Plan confirms that social landlords now have the same access to remediation funding as private building owners, backed by over £1 billion in new investment.
This long-awaited change is expected to unlock stalled remediation projects across the social housing sector, enabling Housing Associations to move forward with greater certainty and financial support.
Additional Government measures include:
- A forthcoming Remediation Bill to enforce responsibilities and enable intervention
- Over £5 million to deliver Local Remediation Acceleration Plans
- A new National Remediation System to improve data, tracking and enforcement
- Extra support for residents, including those in buildings under 11m
At Frankham, we’ve been working alongside social landlords and housing providers to ensure residents live in safe, compliant homes. We’re ready to help clients move swiftly on remediation programmes now that funding barriers are being lifted.
Let’s work together to deliver safer homes, faster.
