Main Purpose of Job

  • To assist the Regional Head of Building Surveying to lead, manage and develop a small technical team.
  • Ensure project work meets all relevant technical and professional standards on a consistent basis.
  • Manage the delivery of work to meet/exceed clients expectations in terms of brief, service innovation, overall quality of work, value for money and delivery to planned timescales.
  • To maximise the value generated to Frankham by managing the team’s delivery of all projects to achieve or exceed the gross margin targets.
  • To ensure that work is performed in compliance with relevant Health & Safety Legislations.
  • To plan and manage resourcing on projects and proactively identify and resolve resourcing issues.
  • Work with the Regional/Group Manager, Manager and the Marketing & Business Development teams to prepare and submit high quality and competitive PQQs and Fee Bids.
  • To work closely and assist the Regional/Group Manager and Manager in the development of new business opportunities  and repeat business.

Job Requirements/Person Specification


  • To have sufficient breadth of technical knowledge and experience to be able to advise and guide the team effectively on technical delivery and to lead the quality assurance of work and to be credible in the eyes of the client and the team.
  • Ensure project work meets all relevant technical and professional standards on a consistent basis.
  • Be able to understand the technical and design requirements of projects and ensure compliance with the relevant technical, health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Give input and guidance into the technical nature of the work and the appropriate approach to be taken to deliver the technical output.
  • To lead the scoping of client briefs to ensure accuracy, appropriateness and completeness.  Ensure the brief is fully understood and confirmed before its acceptance.
  • To be able to play an active and lead role in the delivery of the technical work.


  • Control and monitor work to ensure quality of service and service innovation are achieved.
  • Ensure performance, productivity and quality and innovation of service is maintained and improved.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and influencers to promote the Frankham brand and support growth ambitions.


  • To assist the Regional/Group Manager to prepare the annual Business Plan to set the Budget/target.
