Frankham were commissioned by the RNLI to produce a Full Revit model of the lifeboat house at Hastings.
The survey was undertaken to facilitate the refurbishment of the building. A full Structural and architectural model was completed in Revit. Following consultation with the client, particular attention was paid to specific aspects of the building where change was to be undertaken. These specific areas were undertaken greater accuracy. These areas included the modelling of doors that were to be replaced as well as the clearances to the internal walkways and structure. By focusing on specific requirements and not completing the entire model to highest accuracy level the model was both fit for purpose, cost and time efficient.
The model will be utilised going forward to virtually ensure that any refurbishment or alteration to the structure of the building does not impede the storage of either the current or any future craft.
The production of a full Revit model, with an eye on both current and future need should negate the need for further costly surveys in future.
