As part of the Borough wide roofing and refurbishment programme, by the London Borough of Hillingdon, Frankham Consultancy Group formed a skilled team to specify, procure and administer various building improvement works at this site, to improve the operation of those areas for the next five years. Works consisted of:
- Roof repairs, lantern light infill and sky light replacements to ensure the internal environment remains safe, wind and water tight.
- Replacement of existing cast iron rainwater goods at high level, with PVCu variants, to reduce future maintenance issues.
- Removal of the asbestos containing ceiling panels, to ensure the internal corridors remain safe and useable by the school.
A very tight programme resulted in key site issues relating to lead in periods. Frankham Consultancy successfully procured and administered the works contract to ensure high standards of finish and Health and Safety. As the issues were identified early, close communication with the contractor, client and school helped mitigate their impact. This approach ensured that the contractor maintained their performance throughout, ensuring the works progressed well, being completed within the school holidays and finishing below the contract sum.
