Lane and Frankham were initially commissioned on complete a 2D measured building survey on this multi property site on London’s Drury Lane but with a view to moving to a BIM solution. With this in mind the building was fully laser scanned both internally and externally.

2D plans were produced which gave the design team initial information suitable for planning. This then gave the survey team time to complete an LOD 3 Revit Model utilising a combination of the 2D data and plan.

Going forward the design team will be progressing the project in BIM. Further scan works will be completed at various stages of strip-out. The model will then be updated to aid detailed design.

Through discussion with the client at the initial stages Lane and Frankham were able to collect the data in a way that both provided the client with early decision making information and was also suitable for construction of a Revit model and the collection and modelling of ongoing as built information.
